10/08/2024 9.00 - 13.00 Blashford North Only partial bramble and nettle trimming due to broken shears!! 6 ponies seen on spit south of Lapwing Hide. Sightings - adders, male and female. Lapwings in Silt pond by Lapwing Hide and on shore in front of Tern Hide. Footpath from top of drive to Centre car park is wet and muddy. Needs attention as visitors are being directed to use it instead of the drive.
Concerns about 2 gentlemen who arrived on site early, walked a short distance, down drive and then back to their car via footpath. Were elusive about their intentions although had a tent in their car and random other belongings. Said that they were from Hayling Island, had been camping in the Forest and just looking around. Advised them that there was no wild camping on the Reserve. Did not appear to have stayed very long.
Hi Jacki. We didn't have enough material to repair this section of path however we do have a stockpile of old material we could use to fill in the muddy areas. Might be a good work party task. Could we please have a chat about your encounter with the visitors when I next see you. Thanks
