Circuit of Ellingham Lake/Pound and north side of reserve 08/05/2024, 10.15 to 12.32
Ellingham generally okay. Willow dome looks good. I suspect Little Grebe nesting in the whizzing.crafted.boat (not kidding!) area of the south eastern shore. Not visible because of brambles but lots of loud 'whinnying' in that immediate area. Also heard L Grebe calls in the extreme NW of the lake.
The North side was generally okay. Noted a nice range of singing warblers – Reed, Sedge, Garden, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow and Cetti's. Also Reed Bunting, and heard Little Grebe whinnying on the lake north of the Lapwing Hide circuit (I don't know its name!).
